The primary responsibility for this role is to serve as a Program Management and Portfolio leader in the Portfolio Management Office. This role reports to the Sr. Director of PMO and is to assist with the establishment and growth of a professional and capable PMO. In addition, this role will assist to mature enterprise with regard to its capability to professionally and successfully execute strategic projects.
Overseeing Portfolio Planning & Program Governance:
Work closely with the Sr. Director of PMO to manage initiative intake/evaluation, Portfolio Roadmap development, funding allocation decisions between Portfolios, and tracking for benefits realization.
Partner with executive and senior leaders to set priorities and ensure transparency and clarity on prioritization decisions.
Ensure that prioritization is linked to the overall corporate strategy of Progress Residential.
Ensures adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversees project and program management coaching, including waterfall and Agile. In addition, assists the Business Transformation Services team to progress enterprise transformations and culture shifts.
Assist the Sr. Director with the leadership of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO):
Align and monitor key programs against strategic business plan, committed results and objectives, and benefit realization targets.
Oversee and manage an effective governance structure across all programs.
Sponsor consistent deployment of program management discipline across the portfolio.
Champion the change required to deploy new and innovative program management skillsets, product-focused mindset, and agile and PMP methods.
Resolve issues at scale that cannot be resolved within individual programs.
Provide performance monitoring and benefit realization for all key programs across the enterprise.
Building a Talent Pipeline:
Build a pool of talented Portfolio Managers that can be deployed across the enterprise to lead critical initiatives, including business, technology, transformation, and potential future M&A initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree is required and MBA or other advanced degree desirable.
Minimum of 8 years professional experience required.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Program Management.
Experience with partnering on cross-functional projects or teams.
Experience with managing programs with multiple cross-functional teams.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a team of direct reports.
Excellent business acumen, thought leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent project management, collaboration, and communication skills.
Required experience in Fintech, an agile environment, or within a product organization in real estate services.
Experience in strategy consulting and/or banking/real estate, including business strategy, planning, and execution.
Must be a quick learner, and connector of people and ideas, able to lead large cross- functional programs, as well as deeply organized, highly motivated, and adaptable in fast paced, high growth environment.
Ability to influence across cross-functional teams of all levels, including executive audiences.
Ability to keep multiple priorities moving at the same time and provide objective decision support to key stakeholders.
Ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and apply a wide range of data and inputs into a wide variety of audiences.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Risk assessment experience.
Leadership acumen, ability to influence and negotiate with disparate parties.
Ability to drive projects forward and adopt new processes and projects.
Clear and strong communication skills, i.e., verbal, written, and listening
Project management or ops management background
Management experience, team building experience
Board &/or Executive Committee presentation experience
Creativity, adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment
