JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Procurement Systems will report to the Vice President of Procurement and is responsible for the process development, implementation and administrations of the procurement and supply chain systems.  This position will lead the team to implement and manage the full procure to pay system at Progress in partnership with Technology and Data teams.  The Director of Procurement Systems will lead material catalog management of available SKUs, working closely with operations & pricing to determine the best strategy and processes for update, rationalization, and improvement.  Furthermore, this role will help lead selection of procurement software as part of Progress’ long term business processes and procurement systems strategy. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Primary leader managing the procurement systems controlling Progress materials. (relating to ops, would they control technology material, not opposed)

  • Will lead their team to build and manage Progress’s SKU catalog.

  • Key leader within cross functional effort to determine long term Progress system needs related to purchasing, replenishment, inventory management, procure to pay, Operations management, ERP, etc..

  • Define, develop and monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators for material procurement functions within the Renovation, Turns and Service Department.

  • Will lead the growth of procurement systems to eventually encompass nearly all direct and indirect spend at Progress.

  • Negotiate and manage key data supplier relationships and contracts. Maintain regular contact with current suppliers and resolve ongoing issues as needed.

  • Work with intercompany teams across the organization including but not limited to accounting, data science, and information technology to establish standard procurement data processes.

  • Create and maintain national and regional product specifications for order management system.

  • Establish and maintain estimated useful life criteria as well as repair and replace guidelines for procurement systems and components

  • Work with Renovations, Turns and Service team to document and create training modules to foster a continuous improvement culture.

Human Resource Management

  • Supervision of staff, ensuring they have defined goals and are held accountable for results

  • Work with HR to ensure standardized job descriptions are in place.

  • Develop onboarding and training for each position in the department. 

  • Ensures that the group provides outstanding customer service and is responsive to requests.

  • Coordinates activities to maximize the efficiency of all processes.

  • Develops team and is focused on succession plan.

  • Ensures that employees receive regular feedback on their performance.

  • Performance management of personnel including, reviews, corrective action, mentoring, development plans and performance improvement plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. degree required in supply chain, information systems, software or industrial engineer or a related degree preferred. 

  • 5 or more years of previous procurement, supply chain, information system.

  • Experience implementing procurement systems.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Strong skills with MS Office products including Excel. 

  • Travel to markets as needed.

  • Excellent oral and written and presentation skills.
