JOB SUMMARY

The National Director Property Operations is responsible for executing the company’s strategic objectives, mission, vision, and values as they relate to property operations.  This position will work closely with regional and market staff to ensure the revenue and expense budgets for all markets are achieved.  It is also responsible for providing support and guidance on all daily management and operational issues and ensuring consistency and compliance across the company’s field offices. Innovative business strategies are critical to this role.  This position works closely with senior management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead team of National Managers who provide "substitute coverage" for Director and Manager level positions and assist with hiring, onboarding, and training market leaders

  • Assist and advise markets on operations to drive optimal profit and loss (P&L) performance and employee engagement

  • Work closely with Regional Vice Presidents to ensure property management revenue, expense, staffing, and training goals are achieved

  • Evaluate existing market operations and identify opportunities for improvement and propose viable solutions in both market and central service operations to ensure optimum efficiency levels

  • Conduct periodic market reviews, as requested by EVP Operations or other stakeholders

  • Ensure markets provide outstanding and responsive customer service

  • Assist with developing and implementing project and change management initiatives

  • Work across the company to ensure processes and workflow are aligned with organizational goals

  • Proactively lead change throughout the organization

  • Work closely with central operations to ensure corporate initiatives are met

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents, market teams, and all company business units to develop teams and enhance the new hire onboarding experience

  • Support change management in the organization to ensure proper documentation and training is provided to impacted employees

  • Drive results cross-functionally

  • Ensure all safety standards are met and training is complete

  • Ensure all training requirements are completed timely

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 or more years of supervisory experience in business/operations management in a real estate or property management environment

  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding P&L results

  • Yardi and/or SalesForce experience strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse group of remote managers

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel for operational modeling and development of corporate and departmental staffing plans

  • 45% travel 

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
