The successful candidate will play a supporting role in the implementation administration of Progress Residential’s compensation programs. This role administers the day-to-day tactical compensation and total rewards program elements and may incorporate other related activities, based on organizational growth.
Maintains and administers key compensation databases, tools and associated compensation structure via participation in compensation surveys, providing analysis of competitive positioning and conducting data validation audits
Assists with the administration of annual performance management and merit administration processes as well as various monthly, quarterly, and annual bonus and commission plans including production of C-level presentations that identify current and year-over-year key compensation
Provides coaching and consultative services to line leadership, the talent access team and human resource business partners on compensation-related matters
Maintains the organizations’ job description library
Ensures accurate compensation data is housed in Progress Residential’s human capital management system (i.e., Workday) for applicable modules and associated reports that support the needs of internal and external stakeholders
Conducts compensation analysis on new jobs and existing jobs as needed
Ensures compliance with existing federal, state, and local compensation related regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEO-1, pay equity, etc.)
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field
3+ years of compensation experience in a multi-state, matrixed organization with an emphasis on day-to-day administration of benchmark data, internal compensation structure, accurate assignment of market-based compensation references to existing and new positions, etc.
At least two (2) years of experience with managing large data sets (e.g., business intelligence warehouse databases, compensation survey provider tools, HRIS platforms, etc.) and the ability to generate reports and/or write queries to extract the desired information
Advanced Microsoft Office experience: in particular, Excel experience that includes VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, regression analysis, and nested function statements (candidate will be required to pass a proficiency exam as part of the hiring process)
Above average ability to problem-solve in complex situations quickly and accurately by analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify the issue(s), determine the ultimate root cause(s), and implement the most effective remedy(s)
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of stakeholders that that possess varying degrees of business and/or compensation literacy adapting style and content to effectively convey the necessary information in a comprehendible manner to the respective target recipient(s)
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to stakeholders at a variety of career levels with a multitude of differing demographic attributes (e.g., gender, culture, age, etc.)
Experience working in a high growth organization where concurrent projects have differing priorities and deadlines and may require the need to pivot and realign based on emerging business needs
Proven relationship management skills with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders
