Job Summary 

The Demand Generation Automation Specialist will report to the Director of Resident Communications within the Brand/Communications team. This role bridges technical expertise and marketing strategy, focusing on the development and optimization of marketing automation workflows and integrations within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills to implement, test, and optimize automated marketing solutions, while also contributing to campaign strategy and execution. This role is pivotal in driving customer engagement and supporting the broader marketing objectives through data-driven automation. 

 

Essential Functions 

Marketing Automation Development: 

  • Write and manage SQL queries for audience segmentation and data analysis. 

  • Design, develop, and implement marketing automation workflows and customer journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 

  • Build and maintain API integrations to ensure seamless communication between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other platforms. 

Campaign Support & Strategy: 

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align automation workflows with campaign objectives. 

  • Customize and personalize email and SMS content using AMPscript based on audience segmentation. 

  • Provide insights on customer behavior and campaign performance to inform marketing strategies. 

Testing & Optimization: 

  • Conduct thorough testing and QA of automation workflows to ensure accuracy and functionality. 

  • Optimize triggered actions and automation rules based on performance metrics and customer interactions. 

Compliance & Documentation: 

  • Ensure all workflows and data management practices comply with data protection regulations and marketing standards. 

  • Document processes, workflows, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience in marketing automation, with a strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 

Proficiency in: 

  • SQL for query development and audience segmentation. 

  • AMPscript for dynamic email and SMS content. 

  • REST and SOAP APIs for integrations. 

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing concepts. 

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist) preferred. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
