JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Director, BTR Acquisitions who is a driven real estate acquisitions professional to lead investment activity for high quality, build-to-rent (BTR) homes across one or more of Progress Residential’s core markets in the Western U.S. This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President, BTR Acquisitions, and will be responsible for BTR deal execution from start to finish.

The BTR team at Progress Residential is closely integrated with its New York based investment management firm. As a key leader on this team, you will have direct interaction with key decision makers and play an integral role in shaping this new and exciting asset class within residential housing. Director, BTR Acquisitions will have ownership of their deals from start-to-finish, and bring with them or develop relationships with key market participants including brokers, homebuilders and owners of BTR product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Identifies, underwrites, bids on and acquires BTR homes through on and off market sources.

• Strong networking skills and established reputation among industry peers and colleagues.

• Ability to manage relationships with brokerage and homebuilder teams to maintain high level of deal flow and execution.

• Executes market specific strategy defined by the firm’s Investment Committee and centered around desired capital allocation, asset selection, and targeted returns.

• Uses both proprietary and publicly available data visualization tools and systems to make thoughtful investment decisions.

• Collaborates cross-platform to ensure operating and asset management teams are poised for success onboarding of each acquired community.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8-10+ years of real estate acquisition experience

• Excellent business development skills

• In depth understanding of real estate finance and property-level underwriting

• Outstanding organization skills and an ability to leverage and improve systems to manage a high volume of transactions with strict deadlines

• An independent self-starter with results-driven orientation

• Some travel required
