?The Director Operations Affordable Housing supports the management operation of Housing Choice and Affordable programs for local markets. The Director will build strong relationships with the cities/counties and ownership by engaging with community and governmental resources and groups that are relevant to the tenant population. The Director will build relationships with residents through community outreach to harness insight about community issues to share internally with the Progress team and ownership teams. The Director is responsible for identifying community concerns and new ideas that should be communicated to relevant departments within Progress and ownership to determine potential solutions and responses.
Enforce policies according to quality standards and operating objectives
Analyze processes and procedures to ensure optimum efficiency levels
Be knowledgeable of provisions in standard lease documents and maintain a working knowledge of resident rules and regulations
Be knowledgeable of all HUD program rules and changes to ensure compliance
Develop and maintain positive relationships with local market team members
Develop positive relationships with Housing Authorities and local market team members
Carry out other duties that are in the best interests of the company while being a champion for Progress Residential’s Core Values
Assist in developing and implementing effective, impactful and inclusive resident communication strategies and policies
Demonstrates keen ability to effectively lead change throughout the organizational structure.
Provide insights and reports to the relevant Progress and ownership teams, highlighting relevant issues or concerns
Assist in oversight of management functions that impact residents and convey a social impact perspective to help ensure highest standards for housing and resident relations
Bachelor’s Degree in business or 5+ years of progressive property management work experience
5 or more years of previous property management experience in either the single family or multi-family rental industry
At least 3 or more years of supervisory experience
Real Estate license preferred
Previous use of Yardi Voyager and Salesforce a plus
Previous experience with Housing Authorities and the Voucher Choice Program
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally
Possesses strong organizational skills and is detail oriented
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing, growth environment
Fosters teamwork and mutual respect throughout the company
Interacts productively in person and through technology with co-workers, team members
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer literacy, ability to comfortably navigate new technology and competency in Excel and MS Office suite a must
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
A demonstrated commitment to and competency in diversity, equity and inclusion
Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse persons and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate
