Position Summary??
Progress Residential is hiring a summer intern for a Financial Reporting Intern. The Internship will provide a unique experience and invaluable look into our growing portfolio of single-family properties across the US and how we operate and manage these assets. The internship will accelerate your learning and development by providing you with a strong foundation upon which to understand the Single-Family Real Estate business as you develop your career. Program participants will receive real-world training and participate in networking and learning opportunities in an office or remote environment.
The summer internship will begin in June 2025 and end in August 2025.
The intern is responsible for various duties, including preparation of financial reports, shadowing client and lender interactions, and review of technical accounting concepts and real estate operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Shadow the communication with internal stakeholders, explaining financial reports and variances
Learn month end reporting processes
Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financials
Participate in the onboarding process of new clients, ensuring all accounting information is gathered and communicated for a seamless transition
Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management, rating agencies and lenders
Assist with the day-to-day functions of the lender reporting team
Assist with reviewing lender agreements and determine financial reporting requirements
Assist with review of lender agreements and determine debt covenant requirements
Assist Team with the preparation of monthly internal decks and other management packages
Work with team to setup lender reporting templates
Provide support for requests from the Capital Markets team on new and existing loan facilities
Work with various accounting teams on variance explanations
Perform detailed financial and variance analysis of significant accounts
Provide assistance during annual audits and ensure deadlines are met for support schedules pertaining to debt covenant compliance
Qualifications:
Pursing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field required
Must be proficient in various software packages including, but not limited to, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office, and PowerPoint
Ability to handle large volumes of data
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-growing environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
Successful at multi-tasking and managing multiple projects
Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges, creative problem solver
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills; has ability to convey a clear and concise thought
The internship is designed for results-oriented and entrepreneurial candidates with a strong academic background, preferably in business or real estate.
Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, disciplined ad exhibit a demonstrated interest in the real estate industry.
Current student within an accredited college or university.
Strong presentation skills
Ability to network and develop strong relationships
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
