JOB SUMMARY
The Manager Client Reporting, leads the preparation, automation, and delivery of investor, lender, and management reporting. This role collaborates with Data Engineering (DE), AI Innovation, Accounting, FP&A, and other business teams to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent reporting of financial and operational KPIs across a portfolio of Single-Family Rental (SFR) and Build-to-Rent (BTR) communities.
The Manager develops and maintains standardized KPI definitions and ensures all reporting is delivered in accordance with established policies, procedures, and governance standards.
In addition to recurring reporting responsibilities, this role serves as the strategic owner of data integrity and enterprise reporting. The Manager partners with functional stakeholders to standardize KPI definitions, improve reporting processes, and lead automation initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and data consistency. This position also supports enterprise wide reporting initiatives by translating business requirements into sustainable reporting solutions and actionable business insights.
Working closely with the Vice President of Client Reporting, the successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and demonstrates strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills while fostering collaboration across teams and business functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of critical financial and operational reporting for investors, lenders, and management.
- Manage offshore staff and collaborate closely with India based functional teams through regular cross time zone engagement to ensure alignment, facilitate knowledge transfer, and maintain operational continuity.
Maintain and enhance reporting models while serving as the strategic owner of enterprise reporting, ensuring reporting outputs are reliable, consistent, fully auditable, and traceable to source data.
Prepare investor, lender, and management reporting packages that are clear, accurate, and aligned with established reporting definitions, policies, and governance standards.
Establish and maintain standardized KPI definitions and reporting logic across enterprise systems, including HEX, Snowflake, Yardi, and Salesforce, while partnering with cross functional teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of reporting metrics.
Partner with Data Engineering and Data Integration teams to provide finance domain expertise on data models, schemas, and system implementations. Leverage strong SQL skills to write and troubleshoot complex queries that support financial reporting, analysis, and data validation. Identify, diagnose, and resolve data quality and infrastructure issues while developing automated reporting solutions that enable scalable self service analytics.
Lead consolidated monthly reporting across all funds by integrating financial and operational results into a comprehensive executive reporting package.
Support Capital Markets, Asset Management, Business Development, and Portfolio Management by delivering tailored analytics, reporting solutions, and operational insights that support strategic decision making across entities.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate reporting processes, strengthen reporting governance, and improve efficiency across financial and operational reporting.
Lead and participate in departmental projects and perform ad hoc analyses as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA preferred.
Combination of public accounting and private industry experience strongly preferred.
7 + years of experience in financial reporting, business intelligence, reporting automation, or data analytics.
Real estate or property management experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Yardi and Snowflake preferred. Single-Family experience is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to communicate complex financial and operational information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to improve and streamline processes across multiple business functions.
Experience working with large and complex datasets.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast paced environment.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving, and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Highly motivated team player with a collaborative mindset.
Experience working effectively with both in office and remote teams, including global collaboration.
