POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager Mechanicals is responsible for developing and implementing a scalable national mechanicals procurement & supply chain strategy in support of Progress’s Renovation, Turn & Service business segments. You will operationalize that strategy to build out best-in-class processes. You'll also be responsible for the design, growth, and development of your team, driving team performance and acting as an escalation point for issues. The responsibilities will also include competitive pricing analysis, reporting, compliance, and training. You’ll work with all business areas responding to market needs for materials required by field personnel and vendors to complete jobs on our homes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement mechanicals (HVAC, Water Heater) procurement & supply chain strategy to support rapid portfolio growth, driving both cost and time savings
Collaborate with supplier and vendor partners to deliver exceptional service to internal clients
Manage process from scoped bill of goods to delivered material
Create, update, and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements
Provide analysis and ideas to drive efficiency and process improvement including purchase price savings and overhead cost reductions
Assist accounting department with invoice, payment, and supplier issues
Collaborate with Central Ops and Field Construction teams to evaluate material needs
As a leader, develop direct reports to ensure teams goals are met consistently. Work with employees to develop their functional, leadership and communication skills so they can achieve their career goals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business or related field or equivalent work experience
Three or more years’ experience in a similar supervisory or managerial role in Procurement or Supply Chain directly overseeing spend of $20MM or more
Solid understanding of purchasing, expediting, logistics and inventory management concepts
Experience interacting with manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors
Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities
Ability to effectively navigate various ordering platforms
Excellent organization and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and convey program importance
Team player with a strong work ethic and an upbeat attitude
Deals effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals
Highly functional working independently and resolving practical problems
Works well under stress, despite numerous interruptions with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
Strong sense of urgency, high level of innovative and problem solving response communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CSCP/CSCM/CPIM/CPSM/CIPS Certification
Successful Process, System, Procedure Mapping, Planning & Implementation
Yardi, SalesForce, ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.) System experience
