JOB SUMMARY

The National Manager, Maintenance & Construction Operations is responsible for executing the Company’s strategic objectives, mission, vision and values as they relate to maintenance and construction operations for the overall portfolio.  This position works closely with regional and market staff to ensure the revenue and expense budgets for all markets are achieved.

The role is also responsible for providing guidance on all daily management and operational issues and ensuring operational consistency and compliance in support of the maintenance and construction field teams.

An essential function for this role is the development, delivery, and management of learning programs, coupled with innovative business strategies.  This position works closely with senior management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Evaluate existing department operations and identify opportunities for operational improvement

  • Propose viable solutions based on data for both Maintenance and Construction Services based operations

  • Work closely with Regional Directors to ensure property management revenue, expense, and staffing are achieved

  • Develop and maintain learning programs to support measurable performance goals and standards

  • Work across the Company to ensure processes and workflow are aligned with organizational goals

  • Support change management in the organization to ensure proper documentation and training is provided to impacted employees

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively lead change throughout the organization

  • Conduct periodic market reviews, as requested by Chief Operating Officer or other stakeholders.

  • Ensure all safety standards are met and training is completed

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT/

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 10 plus years of previous business/operations management experience in a real estate operations environment

  • 5 or more years of supervisory experience  

  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding P&L results

  • Learning and Development background strongly preferred

  • Yardi and/or SalesForce experience strongly preferred

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite of products or equivalent tools for operational modeling, learning program development, and development of corporate and departmental staffing plans

  • 45% travel 

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

  • Excellent oral and written and presentation skills
