About the Team and Position

Our Resident Product & Services team is responsible for creating value for our residents by providing products and services that enhance living and lifestyle experience of our residents. We’re growing fast, and we need your help: our team is looking for a Business Analyst to create new ways of defining and delivering this experience. We believe in autonomy and moving quickly, so self-motivation and an interest in blazing new trails are must-haves for this role. As a Product Business Analyst, you will dive into vast amounts of untapped data to identify, refine, communicate, and launch new business opportunities at a rapid pace. Deliver new business insights and decision-making models to guide our Resident Products & Services roadmap. Create scale-able self-service analytical models to be used by product, operations, and executive partners in analyzing both the current state of the business and a suite of forward-looking options.

Role Responsibilities

  • Document business processes related to product, operations, and systems.

  • Reports, analyzes, and interprets financial and operating data for management, including cost analysis, market niche reporting, profitability analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis as directed

  • Effectively perform market research and assists Product Marketing Manager with industry and competitor trends.    

  • Generate accurate and timely reporting through both custom and standard reports and put together presentations on results findings for cross departmental and senior management teams.

  • Conduct gap analyses from current process to future business requirements.

  • Evaluate 3rd party applications to fulfill business needs, processes & requirements

  • Conducting feasibility studies to determine whether a product will be profitable for the company to produce.

  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative and ownership

  • Highly detail oriented, with the ability to recognize, troubleshoot and correct problems; puts emphasis on producing accurate, validated, and timely results

  • Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges, creative problem solver

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment

  • Successful at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to connect disparate data sources and see "the big picture"

What You Should Know/have

  • 4+ years of business analysis experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to engage with customers, external partners, and senior company leadership in a tactful and diplomatic manner

  • A highly analytical approach, with experience enabling rapid and high-quality decision making in a fast-paced environment

  • A collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results

  • Humility to question assumptions, seek broad input, and validate

  • Advanced- to expert-level Microsoft Excel proficiency

  • 2+ years SQL experience (query creation, editing, optimizing)

  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred.

  • Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes
