About the Team and Position
Our Security Operations team is responsible for the prevention and empathetic resolution of any safety or security issues that may arise in our homes. As a Security Operations Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Security Operations Team executing programs and processes at our homes and offices to ensure our associates, customers, and assets are protected. Your daily duties will vary depending upon your assignment. You will be well versed on emergency procedures and will be able to provide assistance when needed. You will be adept at utilizing Smart Home technology. You will interact with our Market Operations Field Teams in documenting and responding to response requests. You will conduct security incident research when necessary and provide key details to the Regional Security Operations Manager to assist in any inquiry.
Role Responsibilities:

Ability to quickly assess the situation and determine the appropriate steps necessary to resolving response requests while providing outstanding customer service and being an ideal representative of Progress Residential
Determine validity of escalations and develop resolution to potential safety or security incidents and customer disputes at our homes through application of company policy and operational processes
Perform scheduled and unscheduled/emergency inspections, and response requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested, involving the following on a daily basis:
Smart Locks
Home Monitoring Equipment
Provide reactive support to criminal justice agency inquiries
Identify trends, conduct deep dive investigations, and provide feedback to management on initiatives that could prevent future issues, strategically or tactically
Follow up with customers, cross-functional partners, and business unit management in a regular, timely, and professional manner
Compile reports and regularly communicate with various company leadership through cadenced updates and resolution recommendations
What You Should Know/have:
3+ years of experience preferably in law enforcement, mediation / dispute resolution, fraud or risk investigations, crisis management, Trust & Safety, or a similar role
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to engage with customers, external partners, and senior company leadership in a tactful and diplomatic manner
Excellent time management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Exceptional judgment, adaptability, and levelheadedness
Real passion for operational process improvement; you’re always thinking about how to scale
Available for on-call rotations, weekends and evenings as needed
Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships
Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way
Knowledge and ability to use power tools
Must possess valid driver’s license in the working state
We’d love it if you also have:
Knowledge of Smart Home products, Physical Monitoring Technology, and other Safe and Secure Technology
Previous experience supporting an OSHA program - Safety Team
Experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans
