The Sr. Director Enterprise PMO will have oversight of program and project management throughout the organization. The position will lead the Enterprise PMO, managing a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.  The Sr. Director: Enterprise PMO will also oversee the Project Management Approval Process and Governance Committee.  The successful candidate will be able to strategically plan projects, allocate personnel resources and partner with key stakeholders in the Organization to effect action.  In managing the PMO and overseeing project governance, the position will work directly with Leaders throughout the Organization to successfully implement projects in accordance with business plan guidelines. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Managers and Business Analysts within the PMO; manage schedules and time commitments for all projects assigned

  • Own the Project Management Approval Process and Chair the Governance Committee to manage a matrix committee of IT/Business Unit professionals, Project Managers and Program Managers

  • Collaborate on projects with Leaders throughout the Organization and lead PMO governance requirements

  • Provide critical review/approval of business cases to ensure proper thought and preparation prior to review by Executive Committee members

  • Challenge Business Unit Leaders to validate process/technology changes; hold Business Unit Leaders accountable for deadlines and their required deliverables

  • Collaborate with IT and Business Unit Leaders to review resources, project timelines and milestones

  • Lead training on project management discipline; hold classes and consult with Leaders throughout the Organization to promote a culture of project management

  • In partnership with Leaders throughout the Organization, develop, configure and optimize end-to-end organizational processes based on review and collaboration with functional teams impacted

Skills and Characteristics

  • Business acumen that facilities ability to discuss projects/goals with Leaders; map out project/program requirements and resources needed

  • Proven work experience in program and project management focusing on executing key deliverables to drive business growth

  • Ability to leverage past experiences and analytical abilities to understand management processes

  • Communication skills that convey and encompass a strong desire for efficiency and organization

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills and ability to author messages for different audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, utilize excellent active listening skills and collaborate across divisions, functions, cultures and levels internally and externally

  • Working knowledge of project management software packages, i.e. Asana, Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, engineering, economics, or related field

  • Formal project management training and certification; PMP, Hammer, Six Sigma

  • 10-15 yrs experience in project management with at least 5yrs experience managing a PMO and/or management of a Project Management team.

  • Strong technical writing skills and presentation abilities
