Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst-Client Reporting is responsible for various duties, including preparation of financial reports, client interactions, and review of technical accounting concepts and real estate operations. They will ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient production of standard and custom reports based on lender/client requirements. He/she will develop effective partnerships with the lenders/clients and internal accounting teams. He/she will be adept at operating in high-volume, deadline-driven environments and thrive in an entrepreneurial and rapidly evolving atmosphere.
Essential Functions:
Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management, rating agencies and lenders
Prepare and review financial reports for internal and third-party clients
Perform detailed financial and variance analysis of significant accounts
Work with various accounting teams on variance explanations
Research and communication with clients, explaining financial reports and variances
Reviews the day-to-day functions of the lender reporting team
Review all lender agreements and determine financial reporting requirements
Review all lender agreements and determine debt covenant requirements
Work with team to setup lender reporting templates
Maintain effective partnerships with lenders/clients and loan servicers
Manage requests from the Capital Markets team on new and existing loan facilities
Maintain best-in-class quality control, ensuring on-time delivery and report accuracy while identifying opportunities for data quality improvement
Identity and implement ways to standardize and automate reporting
Assist with audit requests, as needed
Participate in the onboarding process of new clients, ensuring all accounting information is gathered and communicated for a seamless transition
Train new employees on month-end reporting processes
Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financials
Review work of staff and offer insight as needed
Conduct special projects and prepare ad hoc reports at the request of management which includes research and providing conclusions on technical accounting issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or similar field required, and CPA a plus
Mix of both public and private accounting background strongly preferred
5+ years of audit/accounting & reporting experience strongly preferred
Real Estate/Property Management experience strongly preferred
Yardi experience (multi-family) preferred
Third-party management experience a plus
Must be proficient in various software packages including, but not limited to, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and Outlook
Ability to communicate and present data to key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
Ability to improve and streamline multiple processes across different functions of the department
Ability to handle large volumes of data
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple projects
Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges
Proven problem solving, analytical, troubleshooting and time-management skills
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills; has ability to convey a clear and concise thought.
Highly motivated team player
Ability/experience in working, communicating, and collaborating with the team in both an office environment, as well as remotely
