JOB SUMMARY

  • This role will be located in the Atlanta, GA Executive office and report to the Vice President, FP&A
  • Responsible for owning all Expense Management, including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for Progress Residential

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Expense Management:

  • Own all expense management for Progress Residential
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to build accurate headcount, payroll, and non-payroll expense forecasts
  • Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary for expense performance versus budget, forecast, and prior financial periods
  • Provide executive leaders with insights into expense performance that allow them to make informed strategic decisions on their expenses
  • Drive actions with senior leaders to ensure expense commitments are attained or exceeded
  • Understand company strategy and investment decisions and how they impact expense forecasts and budget
  • Partner with CFO to own end-to-end budget process for all expense accounts
  • Manage a Senior Financial Analyst responsible for all non-compensation-related expenses as well as an offshore Finance Manager who is responsible for reporting automation
  • Automate Expense reporting to drive accuracy and efficiency into the process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 5-7 years of total experience in a Finance or Accounting role
  • 5+ years experience managing a Corporate FP&A team
  • Possesses excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to articulate context
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning, Oracle, Prophix, or other financial systems software
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial results to Senior Leaders and non-finance team members to synthesize financial data and develop storylines around financial performance
  • Ability to drive automation in financial processes
  • Ability to drive results with cross-functional partners to obtain expense commitments
  • Self-starter with inquisitive mind to dig into financial results and understand performance
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Experience in Tableau, Looker, or other dashboard-related software
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience
