Position Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst plays a key role using data and analytics to identify total cost reduction as well as performance improvement opportunities for direct materials supply programs. Leveraging multiple data & reporting platforms the associate will work on sourcing strategy development to support the Construction, Vendor Management, Due Diligence, Project Coordination, Construction Estimation, and Operational Excellence Teams. Initially this role will be focused on improving execution of all material warranties and developing processes to extract the full value of warranties in the future. This role will report to the National Director Strategic Sourcing supporting the team responsible for over $200M annual spend.
Essential Functions:
Support creating Total Cost of Ownership models (acquisition, warranty, and service repair/replacement) capturing the entire product lifecycle, expert on warranty cost and product service needs, improve executional support for Service and Vendor Management teams
Utilize both quantitative and qualitative data sources to support development of category specific nationwide procurement strategies targeted at improving performance gaps
Development of reports from a variety of data sources via combination of SQL & Excel Formulas/Pivot Tables
Categorize and analyze spend for the purpose of identifying sourcing opportunities as well as product standardization
Assist and in some cases manage RFI/RFP/RFQ, negotiation, supplier selection, and contracting
Partner with the Supply Chain and Vendor Management Teams to support successful execution of sourcing programs
Assist in developing Material Supplier Performance data framework and reporting mechanisms including Cost, Cost of Poor Quality, Delivery, Contract Compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of supply chain management, finance, economics, data analytics/science, or business administration or 5+ years of progressive experience as an analyst
3+ years’ experience across any of the following: strategic sourcing, business analytics, implementing material supply programs, purchasing, logistics
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated success working collaboratively with a cross-functional process and/or project team
Capable of combining and rationalizing multiple data sources and communicating analysis to all levels of the organization
Requires abstract thinking and creative solutions
Ability to collaborate and act decisively with the ability to interact effectively inside and outside the department
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Data visualization software and Power Point) as well as other computer applications
Ability to travel to Suppliers, Conferences and Progress Markets 10-20% (5-10 trips / year)
