The Vice President of Collections leads a high performing team responsible for executing collections and account services teams for the portfolio while providing innovative solutions to emerging opportunities.
With the CFO, own the company’s collection strategies, policies and tactics designed to maximize collections from residents, including proactive updates
Establish, train, and lead a strong collection team and account services team that proactively works with residents
Develop innovative solutions to emerging collection challenges including opportunities to leverage IT solutions
Lead rental assistance efforts in coordination with residents and local administrators of the programs
Manage a network of local attorneys to support collections efforts
Ensure full compliance with all company, local, city, state, federal guidelines, FDCPH, and fair housing regulations in all collection’s efforts
Ensure compliance with local jurisdictional codes pertaining to rent collection efforts up to and including the eviction process - maintain active relationships with local attorneys
Ensure compliance with local jurisdictional codes pertaining to security deposit refunds to ensure adherence to state deadlines and allowable charges
Partner with other departments in strategic planning to meet company goals and initiatives
Conduct monthly meetings with markets to ensure transparency and understanding of collection process and programs in place
Provide reporting to senior management on the status of collections, special projects etc.
Timely response and resolution of resident escalations
Highest standards of integrity; Honest, ethical, and able to maintain confidentiality
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents and the Progress team
Be a creative problem solver with excellent oral and written communication skills
Possesses strong organizational skills and is detail oriented
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing, growth environment
Interacts productively in person and through technology with co-workers and team members
Computer literacy, ability to comfortably navigate new technology
Bachelor’s degree required
